OSM & SMIII: 1990

SMIII: North Carolina: 9/30/89-9/1/90

After a thoroughly dreadful 1989 season, UNC kicked off their 1990 season by beating Miami (OH) 34-0. They ended the season 6-4-1, with the tie being the only blemish on Georgia Tech's 11-0-1 national championship (according to UPI) season.

SMIII: Miami (OH): 9/1/90-9/22/90

The Redmen (as they were known at the time) of Miami (OH) lost to Toledo and LSU before beating Cincinnati 16-12.

SMIII: Cincinnati: 9/22/90-9/29/90

When Cincinnati donned Shame Mask III, it was with their 12th loss in a row, but thankful for them, the next week they faced the Original Shame Mask wearing Kent State Golden Flashes, losers of their last 14. It was Kent State that continued their losing ways, reducing the number of active Shame Masks to just two.

OSM: Kent State: 10/21/89-10/20/90

Kent State after uniting the various strains of the Northern Illinois Shame Mask went on to lose to two more MAC teams, Central Michigan and Ball State, before sending it back to Ohio with a 44-15 win. They finished the season 2-9.

OSM: Ohio 10/20/90-end of the season

Ohio was 1-4-1 when they "won" the Shame Mask again, and they finished the season 1-9-1 after losing to Western Michigan, Youngstown State, Central Michigan, and Ball State.
