Louisiana Tech: 11/9/96-8/30/97

It took them a long time before Louisiana Tech had the chance to lose the Shame Mask, but they did at the first opportunity, beating Bowling Green 30-23. They went on to have a very respectible 9-2 season.

Bowling Green: 8/30/97-9/6/97

Bowling Green also won in their first time wearing the masked, beating Miami (OH) 28-21. However, they only had two more wins the rest of the season.

Miami (OH): 9/6/97-9/13/97

More usage of the Shame Mask as a motivational tool when Miami (OH) beat Akron 49-20. Miami (OH) went on to finish the season 8-3.

Akron: 9/13/97-10/4/97

Unfortunately for Akron, the tend did not continue. After getting the mask, they lost to Bowling Green and LSU before the old standby Central Michigan came to town. Akron won 53-14, but they only won one more game in the rest of the season.

Central Michigan: 10/4/97-end of the season

The Chipawahs started 1997 2-1, but that one loss was a pretty significant--82-6 at Florida. But then the losing started. They were 2-3 when they went to Akron, and they didn't win a game after getting the mask.
