Ohio continued their losing ways to start 1993 with loses to UNC, Central Michigan, Ball State, Toledo, Virginia, and Bowling Green. But then Kent State provided just the right tonic. After losing thier final 5 games of 1992, Kent State went on to lose their first 5 games of 1993, leading them into their match-up with Ohio. Ohio won 15-10. For Ohio, this signaled a turn-around, going 4-1 in their final 5 games.

Kent State however could not right their ship after their match-up with Ohio. Once they got the Shame Mask, they proceded to finish their winless season with losses to Central Michigan, Toledo, Bowling Green, Miami (OH), and Ball State.
