Nevada 48, GGSM{New Mexico State} 21

Again, the Aggies of New Mexico State tried to rely only on their pass, and again it was not good enough. They ran the ball 23 times but netted only 17 yards. Nevada on the other hand, got 236 yards on their 41 rushes. New Mexico State had a 7-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, but Nevada scored 28 in an impressive second quarter and never looked back. The Aggies defense recovered a fumble and got 3 interceptions, one of which they returned for a TD. However, New Mexico State still lost the turnover battle with 3 interceptions of their own and 3 fumbles, including one of which that was returned for the TD that put Nevada ahead for good.

No. 13 Arkansas 44, OSM{La-Monroe} 10

Lousiana-Monroe jumped out to a 7-0 lead with a 5 play, 80 yard TD drive on the first possession of the game. In retrospect, this may have been a mistake. The Razorbacks rebounded however with 330 yards rushing. Darren McFadden ran for 129, and 1 TD, plus he threw for a TD, and Felix Jones went for 141 yards and TD.

In a losing effort, Calvin Dawson did rush for a career high 128 yards, but Warhawks were undone by Kinsmon Lancaster's 5 interceptions. Four of their six second half possessions ended in an interception.

Hawai`i 49, GGSM{New Mexico State 30}

When Hawai'i and New Mexico State take to the field, it's going to be tough on the statisticians. The two teams combined for 956 yards of total offense. Hawai`i's Colt Brennan won the day throwing 5 TDs to New Mexico State's Chase Holbrook's 3.

The most interesting stat for me was the fourth down conversion: Hawai`i 3-5, New Mexico State 2-3. There was only one punt in the game, but it went for 56 yards. These teams should play more often.

Middle Tennessee 35, OSM{La-Monroe} 21

In their first game in the Shame Mask, the Warhawks of Louisiana-Monroe scored two touchdowns in the final 3 minutes of the first half to go into the locker room ahead 21-14, but they couldn't stop MTSU in the second half.
