OSM: 1986

The Original Shame Mask was passed around several times in 1986.

Kent State: November 2, 1985-September 6, 1986
Kent State begins the 1986 season by defeating Toledo 18-16.

Toledo: September 6, 1986-September 13, 1986
Toledo did not waste time and removed the Shame Mask at their first opportunity by beating Wichita State 30-13.

Wichita State: September 13, 1986-October 4, 19986
1986 proved to be the final year of football for the Shockers of Wichita State. They started the season with a win over San Francisco before losing to Toledo. The next week they lost 36-35 to I-AA Moorehead State, and then the following week they lost to Iowa State. However, the next week they got what would prove to be their final win over a I-A opponent on October 4, when they won 21-20 at Tulane. The following week, they beat Central Florida, which was not in Division I-A at time for their final win. The Shockers then ended their final season with a five game losing streak.

Tulane: October 4, 1986-October 25, 1986
The Green Wave of Tulane followed up their loss to Wichita State with a loss to Florida State and then another to Mississippi State before knocking off Southern Mississippi 35-20, to pass along the Shame Mask.

Southern Mississippi: October 25, 1986-November 1, 1986
The week after gaining the Mask, Southern Miss traveled to East Carolina, and left it in Greenville with a 23-21 win over the Pirates.

East Carolina: November 1, 1986-November 15, 1986
East Carolina had a week off to prepare to take off the Shame Mask, and their preparations paid off when they defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 32-19.

Cincinnati: November 15, 1986-end of the season.

So, to sum up, teams wearing the Shame Mask in 1986 went 6-4. Off the seven teams to wear it in 1986, only Toledo at 7-4 was better than this record.
